The Help Center

What are your fees?

Finding the right counsellor for you is imperative to the success of the therapy, which is why I offer an initial free of charge 30 minute telephone assessment to see if you are happy to begin working together. After this, each face-to-face session is charged at £45 for a 50-minute session, payable at least 24 hours prior to the session via bank transfer. Online and telephone counselling is offered at the lower price of £30 per 50-minute session. I am able to offer a limited number of concessions to low-income clients, so please contact me if you'd like to find out more.

What happens in a counselling session?

No one counselling session is ever the same, and with grief often feeling so unpredictable, each session is tailored to the emotions and issues that are most present for you in that moment. I provide an empathetic, confidential space for these to be explored along with coping strategies to support you when you are outside of the counselling space.

Won't exploring these negative feelings leave me feeling worse?

At times, possibly. Counselling taps into difficult emotions such as sadness and anger and I encourage any feelings and emotions to not be censored. Crying and shouting may occur naturally and will certainly not offend. Exploring these difficult emotions without guilt or being censored is a large part of what makes therapy so effective. Counselling doesn't produce results immediately, but it does work. There are lows, but the lows become less painful and the highs get higher.

Is what I say to you confidential?

Yes, counselling sessions are confidential. The  exception would be if you were to pose a danger to yourself or others, in which case the relevant parties would be notified. Please see our Privacy Policy page for more information.
